Honor Flight Quilts
Bits ’n Pieces Quilt Guild is proud to support local veterans through our Honor Flight Quilt Project. Guild members create patriotic quilts that are presented to veterans participating in Honor Flight trips as a handmade expression of gratitude for their service to our country.
Quilt Guidelines
Honor Flight quilts:
- Measure 36″ x 36″
- Should be turned in fully quilted
- Can use any red, white, and blue fabrics (they don’t have to be only patriotic fabrics)
- Use any quilt pattern you like
- Do not include a sewn-in label (Each finished quilt is accompanied by a flyer explaining who made the quilt and the guild’s role in the project.)
Kits
Honor Flight quilt kits are typically available at guild meetings. Members are welcome to use a kit or create a quilt from their own red, white, and blue, or patriotic fabrics.
Committee Chairs
Kay Stevenson is the Committee Chair with Lisa Smith as second in command. They take over leadership of the Honor Flight Quilt project following the passing of longtime chair Judy Humphrey. We are grateful for Judy’s years of service to this meaningful guild project and appreciate Kay and Lisa for carrying forward the commitment the guild made to Honor Flights.

Judy Humphrey presents an Honor Flight Quilt to a 103yo veteran.
