Bits ‘n’ Pieces Quilt Guild 2025 Quilt Raffle
SWEET SURRENDER SHIBORIED
Once again, Bits ‘N’ Pieces has created a gorgeous quilt for our bi-annual raffle. 
Sweet Surrender Shiboried was designed, pieced, appliqued, and quilted by the A-Team, a mini-group within the Bits ‘N’ Pieces Quilt Guild. It is a lovely garden of delicate flowers surrounded by indigo blue diamonds.
It took eight months to complete, with members working on it both in their monthly meetings and in their homes. The quilt measures 90” x 105” (queen size with a 15” drape).
Judy Vogt saw the pattern on Pinterest and contacted the pattern designer, Sue Cody, in Australia. Moda indigo blue shibori fabric was ordered from Debbi Maddy of Tiori Designs. The white and navy fabrics are Moda Kona cottons. Charm packs and layer cakes were purchased at Hancock’s in Paducah for the flowers, and green stem fabric was purchased from Jackmans. The backing is Blue Breeze by Danhui Nai for Wilmington Prints. There are two battings: Quilters Dream Wool and Quilters Dream Cotton Request (no scrim).
The A-Team has been in existence for approximately 15 years. This is at least the third quilt the A-Team has created for the Bits ‘N’ Pieces quilt raffle. One of their previous quilts, Rose of Sharon, was juried into the 2019 American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show in Paducah, KY. Raffle Quilt Ticket Chairs are Barbara Nagel and Dianna Kogut. Raffle tickets can be purchased from any Bits member. Ticket costs are $1 for one ticket or $5 for six tickets. The drawing will be held at the Fanfare of Quilts Show at Queeny Park on March 16th, 2025. You need not be present to win.
